Numerous websites, wine books and magazines claim that their aim is to demystify wine, which in a way is a noble goal. However, part of this allure is the fact that wine is mysterious, which intimidates some people, but it would be nice for one to scan different wines confidently and pick out a perfect bottle to match a specific meal. This is not to suggest that all people should be snobs, or that everyone should be an elite wine lover, it’s about admitting that there is something another person knows which we don’t.
